October Light

Cluster of Maple Seeds

October is one of my favorite months for photography. The slant of the light is excellent — warming the already glowing colors of autumn and making beautiful, long shadows.

I took this photo two days ago at Pioneer Park in Brownsville, Oregon. The sun shining through the giant maple trees, and through this cluster of seeds in particular, made me catch my breath. I don’t even mind the blown out (white, overexposed) areas.
